Eleganzas are made from the thrums or weaving scraps left over from a wrap or scarf. When I collect enough for an Eleganza Scarf, which may be from three or more scarves and may take months to acquire. Each Eleganza is therefore individual and made one at a time.

Flicker, an Eleganza Tunic

 

Eleganzas are really fun to make, I save all my thrums or scraps from the weaving process that are non-wool and then sew them together in a free motion machine embroidery technique. The result is lace-like but strong material which is very easy to wear.

This size is small which will fit up to approximately a 12-14 but looks best when roomy.

Spruce Eleganza Dress

 

This dress was created as part of my In the Garden series for the Vancouver Eco Fashion Week. It turned out really nicely as I was not sure how the silk strips were going to wash. I am really happy that the texture looks like spruce bark too. This dress is a one size fits all up to size 12.
